Organise Course Modules and Lessons

Build a clear curriculum, order modules and lessons, and configure the media, timing and access rule for each lesson.

Last updated 23 August 2026

Use modules for meaningful stages of progress and lessons for one teachable action or idea. Short, well-labelled units are easier to navigate than a long unstructured library.

Complete Organise Course Modules and Lessons

  1. 1. Open the course and choose Curriculum. Add a module with a title that describes the learner’s next stage.
  2. 2. Add a lesson, then choose its type: written lesson, video, audio, download, link or mixed content.
  3. 3. Write and format the lesson in the rich editor. Add only media and files you are authorised to distribute.
  4. 4. Set the estimated duration, preview availability and any drip delay. Use a prerequisite only when the next lesson genuinely depends on earlier work.
  5. 5. Drag modules and lessons into their intended order. Save the item before moving to another lesson.
  6. 6. Open the learner portal with a test enrolment and confirm that protected media, downloads and navigation behave as expected.

Confirm the result

The Curriculum tab shows the intended order and lesson types. A learner sees only eligible lessons, protected media is not exposed as a public file URL and the duration and completion controls are clear on mobile.

If something is wrong

If a lesson appears in the wrong place, save any open edits and drag it again. If media does not play, confirm the file finished uploading and use the protected learner route. If a drip lesson stays locked, check the enrolment date, delay and prerequisite.
