Add Quizzes, Assignments and Completion Rules

Add assessments to the lessons that need them, then set scoring, attempts and completion gates that match the learning goal.

Last updated 23 August 2026

Assessments should give the learner useful evidence of progress. Add them where a decision, skill or submitted piece of work needs to be checked—not merely to make the course look longer.

Complete Add Quizzes, Assignments and Completion Rules

  1. 1. Open the course and choose Assessments. Select the lesson that should contain the assessment.
  2. 2. For a quiz, add each question, answer choices and the correct answer. Set a passing score and a reasonable attempt limit.
  3. 3. For an assignment, write the task, submission guidance and any accepted response or file requirement.
  4. 4. Choose whether passing or approval is required before the learner can complete the lesson or continue.
  5. 5. Use a test learner to submit the quiz and assignment. Check both a passing and unsuccessful quiz result.
  6. 6. Review assignment submissions from Assessments, add concise feedback and record the correct review state.

Confirm the result

Quiz scoring uses the configured answers and limit, assignment submissions stay attached to the correct learner and lesson, and completion is blocked only by the rules you deliberately enabled.

If something is wrong

If a correct answer scores incorrectly, inspect the saved option and question before allowing more attempts. If an assignment is missing, confirm the learner token, lesson and active enrolment. Do not change rules mid-cohort without explaining how existing attempts are treated.
