Publish, Pause or Unpublish an Offer

Set up the offer to control public availability without losing the internal offer record, then check the complete signed-out mobile journey before publishing.

A workspace with a laptop, packaging and business planning notes.

Selstack is a platform for creators and businesses to build a public selling page, share individual offers, accept supported payments and bookings, and manage the resulting orders and customer details. A “Stack” is a selling page. This guide explains the relevant workflow and the seller’s responsibilities; payment methods, account requirements and some features depend on the business configuration and plan.

This task changes what a customer sees or can buy on a public Selstack journey. This guide focuses on how to control public availability without losing the internal offer record.

Before editing the offer

Open Stack and select the exact draft or published offer. Record its current title and public URL so you do not edit a similarly named item. The purpose of this task is to control public availability without losing the internal offer record.

Configure what the customer needs to know

Use a specific title, a truthful description and owned media. Confirm price, currency, delivery or booking details and any limitation that affects suitability. Ask only for customer information that is necessary to fulfil or support the offer.

Match access and fulfilment

Choose free, fixed-price or customer-decided access only when the plan and offer support it. Select the delivery outcome that actually follows completion: file access, a physical item, a service hand-off, an appointment or no delivery.

Preview before publishing

Use the live preview, then open the public page at a narrow mobile width. Check long titles, image cropping, amount, currency, fields, primary button and success message. A preview is not a successful payment test.

Publish or pause deliberately

Publish only when the customer promise and fulfilment process are ready. Pause or unpublish an unavailable offer instead of accepting an order you cannot fulfil. Reopen the public URL after saving to confirm the current version is visible.

Example: Publish, Pause or Unpublish an Offer

Pause a sold-out product while preserving its historic orders, then publish again only after stock and delivery wording are current.

If Publish, Pause or Unpublish an Offer is not working

If an offer remains public, confirm the save completed and refresh both the individual link and Stack while signed out.

Confirm the result

  • Title, media, price, currency, fields and fulfilment details describe the same offer.
  • The selected access and delivery options match what happens next.
  • The signed-out mobile page shows the complete action without clipping.
  • Only a ready, available offer is public.

When to ask Selstack for help

Where Selstack fits in an online business

Selstack gives sellers a public selling page and individual links for specific offers. A customer can browse a seller’s page or open a direct link to a product, service, booking, course or event. The seller manages the resulting orders and customer details in the same workspace. This is useful when sales start in a social conversation, an email or a recommendation and the customer needs a clear next step. It does not remove the seller’s responsibility for the offer, delivery, customer service or the rules that apply to the business.

Start with one customer decision

A useful selling page answers a practical question: what can this customer do here? Choose one offer you can explain and deliver reliably. Describe who it suits, what is included, the price and currency, and what happens after the customer completes the action. A short catalogue of ready offers is more useful than a large collection of unfinished pages. Keep work in draft while preparing files, photographs, delivery arrangements or availability. Publication should mean the offer is ready for a real customer, rather than simply that the editor has been completed.

Choose the appropriate action

Digital products suit files and resources; physical products need delivery or collection arrangements. A service offer explains work that will be provided, while appointment and booking options connect the offer to available times. A lead form collects an enquiry without presenting it as a purchase. A simple link sends the visitor to another website. Courses and ticketed events have their own delivery and attendance workflows. Choosing the right action gives the customer a more accurate experience and helps the seller find the resulting information in the appropriate part of Selstack.

Make the public promise specific

Write a title a customer could recognise on a receipt or in a support conversation. Replace broad claims such as “the complete solution” with concrete contents, quantities, service boundaries or learning outcomes. Put important restrictions in the description rather than hiding them in a picture. A buyer should be able to distinguish an immediate download from work delivered later, a consultation from an ongoing support package, and an event ticket from a general expression of interest. Clear promises reduce avoidable questions and make it easier to resolve a genuine problem fairly.

Connect the page to delivery

Before publishing, check the hand-off after the main action. For a file, inspect the version customers will receive. For a physical item, confirm where you can ship or where collection is available. For booked time, review duration, time zone and availability. For an enquiry, decide who will respond and what information they need. Configure only the customer fields required for that outcome. Asking more questions does not automatically improve a sale; it can make a straightforward purchase harder and leaves the business responsible for additional personal information.

Test a real visitor’s route

Open the public URL in a signed-out browser and on a narrow mobile screen. Read the page without relying on what you already know as the owner. Check the image, description, currency, button and completion message. Follow contact links and make sure the seller’s identity is recognisable. If payment testing is needed, use the supported test environment or an authorised low-risk test procedure; do not create unnecessary live charges. A preview confirms presentation, but the published URL is the destination that customers will actually use.

Share the right link for the situation

Use the full selling-page link when someone needs to compare offers or learn about the business. Use an individual offer link when a conversation or campaign has already established what the customer wants. Send the same current address in the relevant social post, email or message. If you change an offer, review the wording around links you have already shared. A social post promising an earlier price or delivery date can still create confusion even when the current Selstack page is accurate. Keep the promise and destination aligned.

Review outcomes rather than appearances

After launch, use recorded customer actions to decide what to improve. Views indicate attention; an enquiry indicates interest; a paid order is a different result again. Review questions customers repeatedly ask and the stage where people hesitate. Improve the corresponding part of the journey: the offer wording, required information, delivery explanation or follow-up process. Change one significant element at a time when you want to understand its effect. More traffic cannot repair a broken link or an offer that the business is not prepared to fulfil.

Build a repeatable operating habit

Set a regular time to review published offers, outstanding orders and customer messages. Remove or pause an offer that is no longer available instead of continuing to collect expectations you cannot meet. Keep one person accountable for the next action on each unresolved issue. As the business grows, review the current plan’s publishing and team limits before adding capacity. Selstack can connect the selling steps, but a dependable business still needs accurate information, realistic commitments and people who follow through on the work customers have requested.
