A payment link is a shareable route from an offer to checkout. Instead of sending bank details, asking a customer to search a large site or creating an invoice for every simple sale, you send one link with the information needed to decide and pay.
What the link does
The link presents the title, description, amount and any questions you choose to collect. The customer opens it on their phone or computer, reviews the offer and follows the available payment steps. After a successful payment, the activity appears in your Selstack Payments area.
A payment link can work well for fixed-price products, deposits, consultations, event places, digital resources and other focused offers.
Choose a clear payment structure
Decide whether the amount is fixed or chosen by the customer. Fixed pricing is usually best when everyone receives the same product. A customer-chosen amount may suit donations, tips or variable contributions, but the description should explain any minimum or expected amount.
Write for the moment before payment
The customer may have received your link in the middle of a chat, so repeat the essentials. Include what is included, the amount, timing, delivery method and what happens after payment. Avoid introducing new conditions at checkout.
Collect only useful details
Name and email may be enough for a digital order. A service may require a phone number or a short brief. Ask only for information you need to deliver or follow up, and avoid collecting sensitive information through general-purpose form fields.
Share and reconcile
Use the same canonical link in messages, social profiles and campaigns. When activity arrives, use Payments to review its status and Contacts to see the person connected to the journey. Do not treat a screenshot from a customer as proof of payment; use the status recorded in Selstack.
Good practice: open the link yourself before every campaign. Check the amount, wording and availability, then complete a safe test using the payment method’s sandbox or approved test process where available.
The value of a payment link is not only speed. It gives both sides a more consistent record of what was offered, what the customer submitted and what happened next.
