How to Sell Products Through WhatsApp

Turn WhatsApp conversations into a repeatable sales journey without losing the personal service customers value.

WhatsApp is powerful for selling because it already feels personal. The challenge is turning repeated questions into a reliable process without making the conversation robotic.

Prepare a simple catalogue of offers

Choose a small number of products to promote at one time. For each, prepare a clear photo, one-sentence benefit, price, availability and fulfilment timing. Create a Selstack payment or lead-plus-payment link so the customer has one consistent place to act.

Use content to begin the conversation

Status updates work best when they demonstrate the product: show scale, texture, use, transformation or the result. Add a short prompt such as “Reply SIZE for available options” rather than asking everyone to make an immediate purchase.

Qualify without interrogating

When someone replies, ask the smallest useful question. A clothing seller may need size and colour; a service provider may need the desired outcome and date. Then recommend the most relevant offer instead of pasting the entire catalogue.

Move from chat to a structured link

Summarise the agreement before sending the link: product, variation, total and expected delivery. The link should repeat those essentials. This protects the friendly flow of the chat while giving the payment and customer details a consistent home.

Create reusable replies

Save concise answers for availability, delivery, payment, returns and follow-up. Personalise the first line and any recommendation. Reusable does not have to mean impersonal; it means your important information stays accurate when the inbox is busy.

Follow up with context

If a customer asks for time, agree when to follow up. If they submit a lead but do not pay, refer to the specific product and question they discussed. Avoid repeated generic messages.

Keep records clean: use the Selstack Payments and Contacts areas as the operational record. WhatsApp remains the conversation, while the workspace helps you track what actually happened.

The best WhatsApp sales journey feels like good service: a useful conversation, a confident recommendation and a clear next step. Structure supports that experience—it does not replace it.

Give every conversation a clear next step

Create a link for your most requested offer and save it in a reusable WhatsApp reply.
